PPX – Awards Committee
Terms of Reference

Mandate
This Committee will be responsible for articulating and implementing a PPX Awards Program that recognizes exemplary contributions by public sector organizations, individuals and teams involved in the field of results based management. The purpose of these awards is to provide an opportunity to recognize contributions by peers and colleagues and to raise the profile of the results based management community/function. Potentially, this will also increase awareness, attract and retain participants and new members of PPX.
The Scope of Award recipients is to be determined and approved by the PPX Board, but could include the following categories:

Exemplary RBM initiative from a department, agency or other public sector organization
RBM achievement by an individual or team
Life time achievement/contribution to the advancement of RBM in Canada

It is anticipated that these awards will be determined through a broad self/peer assessment process, and given annually at the PPX National Symposium

Governance and Membership

Reports to PPX Board (as directed or required)
Chair (Past PPX President or experienced Board Member)
2 to 5 members (Board members or members-at-large)
Willow Group representative
Links with the President, other Board members and Committees to identify potential candidates for Awards.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities

Identify, implement and monitor a strategy for the PPX Awards program
Identify and implement strategies to attract, recruit and retain qualified assessors, candidates and sponsors , including through the PPX Volunteers process
Identify annually and recommend to the PPX Board a slate of proposed awards winners, nature of the awards, and related ceremony logistics
Work out any supporting details with Willow Group
Work within the budget (costs and revenues) as directed by the Board, as necessary

Critical Success Factors

Experience, research, and reach of Awards Committee members, including personal networks and contacts with potential candidates, assessors, and sponsors.
Direction from Board in identifying requisite categories of achievement, skills, organizations and individuals consistent with an approved Awards program design

Indicators of Success

Number/quality of potential awards candidates
Degree of interest/acknowledgement within the RBM community (and more broadly) of the PPX Awards program and its results
Interest/commitment from potential sponsors
Increased awareness of PPX as a leader within the RBM community

Meetings

Bi-monthly, in advance of the PPX AGM and the Awards nominations/decisions process
May be more frequent as required

Record of Decisions

Kept by Willow Group
Key decisions / proposals will be brought up at the subsequent Board meeting
