The PPX Board of Directors on April 12, 2002 approved
and put into effect the following PPX Language Policy
The PPX recognizes the language duality of the membership it serves
and within its resources will strive to respond.
Whenever practicable the PPX will promote and support the use of both
official languages in:
communications to PPX members;
notices posted to the PPX website;
learning and exchange events organized by the PPX; and
the Annual Symposium.
Speakers and presenters from federal departments and agencies will be
encouraged to use both official languages in their speeches and presentations
and will be asked to make the material they use, where feasible, available
in both official languages for distribution at events or posting on the
PPX website.
In announcements to PPX Members regarding PPX Learning Events and the
Annual Symposium, the PPX will indicate the primary language of the event
and whether or not simultaneous translation will be available.
Each year the PPX will attempt to include at least one PPX Learning
Event where the predominate language used by speakers/presenters is French.
Provision of simultaneous translation at the plenary sessions of the
Annual Symposium will be reviewed by the PPX Board each year to determine
the PPX's ability to continue the practice. Cost, usage and participant
evaluation will be the principal criteria employed in the review.
